Eva Wathen

Eva Wathén represents the third generation of a Finnish family company, Koskisen. She is currently in charge of CR and brand issues and reports directly to the newly appointed non-family chairman of the group. She will also be taking care of ownership issues as the head of group supervisory board that is under development. Koskisen Group has over 100 years of history in mechanical wood processing all from sawn goods to the finest of interior components made of specialised plywood.

Eva joined the family company after a retreat from hospitality industry in 1993. She spent the first 15 years in Sweden taking care of the sales to Scandinavian countries. Towards the end of the period her role was extended to group activities to plan and implement the group-wide brand renewal process and also to activate the succession from 2nd to 3rd generation. Since 2008 she has worked both as the executive chair of the business board and owners’ board and also spent some years outside the family firm. She is interested in issues related to family businesses and strategic development and sits in one of the boards of Finnish Family Business Association. She has also a little part time coaching / mentoring practise where the aim is to support and guide people in pursuing their entrepreneurial career, in or outside family business. She is married and a mother to three daughters (14,16 and 18 years).
